We are the Premier Supplier to the Outdoor Recreation Industry. We are passionate about what we do. We believe in providing only the highest quality products to our customers and having fun doing it. Our goal is to provide signs and specialty products that enhance operations, withstand harsh mountain environments, and assist resorts in their initiative to grow the sport.

 

Where we are

Inter-Mtn. is located in Kelowna, BC, Canada, otherwise known as an outdoor enthusiast’s playground; within a short drive away are the province’s premier ski resorts, lakes, golf courses, wineries, hiking trails, and an expansive mountain bike terrain. We operate from coast to coast, supplying signs and specialty products to every edge of North America.

Working, living, and playing in such proximity to world-class resorts allows us to monitor the performance of our products and respond quickly to the requests of our valued customers. Inter-Mtn.’s experience has progressed since 1987 beyond providing signs and specialty products to strictly ski resorts. We serve all outdoor recreation facilities including mountain biking and hiking trails, Nordic facilities, golf courses, ziplines, events and sports clubs. In addition, we also serve municipalities, construction, mines, major corporate and local partners, and many more parallel industries across North America.

Our company provides knowledgeable advice, operational expertise, innovative solutions, and cost-effective products and signs that meet the rigorous demands of the industry throughout North America. We are passionate about outdoor recreation, specifically the ski industry. We value our relationships with our customers, vendors, and employees; it is these relationships that have allowed us to develop as a company into what we do today. The focus we put on these relationships is the driving force behind everything we do.

 

Our History

1987 Inter-Mtn. Testing Ltd. opened by Don and Debbie Muirhead, specializing in wire rope and non-destructive testing for ski areas, mines, bridges, cranes, and fire departments throughout Canada.

 

1991 As the CSA - Z98 regulatory code changed, Inter-Mtn. Sign & Design Company is created to provide a solution for the new ski lift required signs. Leveraging talented graphic designers, they were able to implement signs and sign systems at ski resorts across Western Canada that were functional, visually appealing, and durable.

 

1999 Inter-Mtn. Specialty Products division evolved with a line of quality aluminum, padding, and polyethylene products such as load boards and fencing. Sourcing and manufacturing items specifically to meet the rigorous performance requirements of the ski resort industry.

 

2005 Inter-Mtn. Sign & Specialty Products transformed to become its own incorporated company, rebranding with a new name, Inter-Mtn. Enterprises Inc., and a refreshed logo design. Further expansion added new fencing options, aluminum solutions, banners, event supplies, artificial snow surfaces, and a fun line of kid’s toys, KIDSTUFF.

 

2011 Inter-Mtn. Enterprises Inc. doubles manufacturing capabilities with an industrial sewing division. This expansion included a substantially larger warehouse space, resulting in new products and improved quality control. Shortly after that, Inter-Mtn. celebrated their 25th year in business by commemorating the people and companies who helped them reach the milestone.

 

2015 Inter-Mtn. Enterprises Inc. continues to grow and expand product lines. Adding numerous new products to meet customers' needs, while also announcing an upcoming succession plan for the family business. The industry leader in signs and specialty products to the ski and outdoor recreation industries, would transition to Leah Muirhead MacDonald, who had been with the company since 2004, to guide the company into its second generation.

 

2021 A successful transition was completed. Leah and Scott MacDonald officially become the second-generation owners of Inter-Mtn. Enterprises Inc. Their knowledge and enthusiasm transition the same core values into the future. Inter-Mtn. remains proud to be the outdoor recreation leader in signs and specialty products. Among many exciting additions, was the launch of a new eCommerce website and modern ordering capabilities to allow Inter-Mtn. to continue serving their valued customers with the same quality, service, and experience that they had come to expect.
