5 Ways to Animate your Ski Resort's Learning Area

Ski resorts and their ski and ride schools across North America are using Kidstuff—Inter-Mtn.’s customizable, durable, but mostly fun line of snow toys—as visual cues and soft obstacles to add colour and creativity to their slopes.

Kidstuff features a wide range of standard and customizable outdoor products that help ski schools and their instructors create a fun and encouraging learning environment for both newcomers and revival skiers and snowboarders, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to explore your entire terrain.

To inspire and help you say bye-bye to boring, we’ve prepared 5 real-world examples of ski areas that used Kidstuff to create their Master-Piste:

Like a brushstroke on a blank canvas, Kidstuff transforms a snowy slope into an inviting, exciting learning environment.

PIKA, The Master Piece Of Mont Farlagne's Vision

At Républik Nature - Mont Farlagne, they have a mascot named PIKA. While PIKA’s cheerful face is displayed in their learning area, Mont Farlagne took it a step further by personalizing snow toys and signs from our Kidstuff catalogue that ensure PIKA’s face remains front-facing.

After our collaboration, Mont Farlagne’s outdoor centre includes a collection of custom-made foam snow toys, arches, signage, and learning tools featuring PIKA.

Not only do these durable snow toys help facilitate practice in control, turning, and slowing down, but their products also stay on brand, true to their community.

Building the Branded Blocks of The Hideout at Buttermilk Mountain

At Aspen’s Buttermilk, The Hideout was designed to “achieve a memorable experience for kids and their parents while increasing the physical dimensions of a successful ski school program.”

The building design further enhances this by creating a fun, kid-friendly environment with custom kid-sized elements.

That’s where we, and the brandable pieces within the Kidstuff catalogue, come in.

Buttermilk branded our custom blocks and event fence and added to their package by including affordable animal pops and some colourfully printed jersey-mesh ski-through tunnels, which photographer Hal Williams expertly captured.

As you can see, there is a sense of joy in learning to ski and the spirit of teamwork—the building blocks of a future in skiing! Among Aspen’s many Master-Pistes, we see branded foam blocks and ski-through tunnels alongside standard products straight from our Kidstuff catalogue.

Big Sky Resort, Where Every Moment Has the Potential to Be Transformative

At Big Sky Resort, every moment, big or small, has the potential to be transformative. Their team brings this philosophy to life throughout the mountain, especially in how they visualize their learning area.

When they wanted to add a creative and colourful touch to their ski and snowboard lessons, they shared their vision with us. We were excited to help them paint that picture with some of our favourite items from the Kidstuff catalogue.

Their concept came together through fun foam animals and dinosaurs, each branded with their logo, paired with colourful mesh ski-through tunnels. Guests can practice their skills as they carve past the dinosaurs, pass through the Car Wash or Mustang Tunnels, and loop back for another lap—experiencing a learning area shaped by Big Sky’s own philosophy.

Bring Your Outbound Marketing Inbound and Maximize Your Budget with Sponsors

Nowadays, sponsors and their advertising teams are looking for ways to create immersive, memorable, and shareable moments.

That’s why a ski resort's learning area offers a unique opportunity! It’s an engaging area where you—and brands—can turn ordinary products into memorable experiences.

With the right sponsor(s), you can allocate advertising budgets to fun, engaging, and experience-driven elements such as branded snow toys, signage, and other interactive pieces. This transforms the learning area into a space that benefits guests, sponsors, and your resort.

For example, HEAD’s ski division recognizes this well, as seen in their investment in branded Kidstuff.

Speak with your sponsors, show them the Kidstuff catalogue, and together, we can help you give your sponsors and guests a real head start.

Celebrate Your Community

When resorts use Kidstuff to highlight local histories, the learning area becomes a space where guests can nurture an existing emotional connection to the community’s heritage.

Across North America, resorts are using Kidstuff to celebrate their community in creative, kid-friendly ways:

Park City leans into its rich mining and skiing heritage by incorporating themed elements throughout its learning area.

Hilltop’s community has deep ties to its shipping provider—so they transformed that partnership into a one-of-a-kind foam cargo ship, complete with detachable containers.

It’s an imaginative training tool, a local tribute, and an irresistible play piece all in one. Kids practice and play without even realizing they’re learning.

Sun Peaks Resort & Sun Valley Resort

Sun Peaks Resort & Sun Valley Resort
Showcase Local Artists on Snow

Sun Peaks Resort has created several ski-through-the-woods Kids Adventure Zones, each with its own playful animal theme. Local artist Zuzy Rocka designed the artwork, which Sun Peaks brought to life as large-scale characters placed throughout the woods. These pieces create memorable moments for families, including character cutouts with face holes so guests can snap a photo that puts them right in the scene.

At Sun Valley Resort, they partnered with local artist Kika Macfarlane to create a unique, energetic collection of Kidstuff pieces. Their setup at Sunny’s Adventure Park on Dollar Mountain features a double-sided foam bear with an outstretched paw and a speech bubble reading “High Five!”, inviting and encouraging interactions as guests move through the learning area. The collection also includes custom foam shapes, Crezon character cutouts, and a one-of-a-kind custom punching bag. Each graphic was made with digitally printed artwork and durable vinyl fabrics chosen to match Sun Valley’s vision.

Both resorts showcase how local artistry and Kidstuff can come together to create learning spaces that feel fun, distinctive, and deeply connected to their communities.

Mount Southington Ski Area

Mount Southington Ski Area
A Playful Approach to Caring for the Mountain

Mount Southington and the Snowball Effect took the lead in bringing the ON BOARD initiative to their learning area focused on sport, sustainability, and education.

Our part was simple: we provided the branded Kidstuff snow toys—foam trees, log-shaped bumpers, and colourful arches inspired by Snowball Effect artwork.

Kids snowboard around foam trees, glide past log-shaped bumpers, and dip under colourful arches, so while they’re learning to shred, they’re also learning to sort.
