Freestyle Mogul Skiing
Year:
2025 – 2026

Emelie McCaughey, a freestyle mogul skier from Apex Mountain Resort, returns as Inter-Mtn.’s Sponsored Athlete for the 2025–2026 season. As a member of the BC Freestyle Provincial Development Mogul team, Emelie trains year-round, balancing on-snow camps, water ramping, strength training, travel, and competition as she continues to develop her skills and confidence on course.

Her season began with three weeks of training in Tignes, France, in July, followed by water ramp camps in Whistler throughout August and September, where she focused on perfecting her jumps. Late fall brought an on-snow training camp in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, finishing with a FIS Open competition.

Heading into 2026, Emelie is preparing for a busy competition season, starting with a NorAm at Apex Mountain Resort at the end of January. Her schedule also includes competitions in both eastern and western Canada, the US and finishing with both Junior and Senior Nationals. She aspires to one day join the Next Gen team and work her way to competing on the World Cup circuit. Beyond comp results, Emelie values the friendships and strong connections she has built through mogul skiing.

When Yorke isn't racing to the top of a podium, he is working towards graduating high school, improving his fitness, riding his motorbike, and focusing on his next goal: competing at the 2029 World Championships in Switzerland. Along with demonstrating promise and passion in his sport, Yorke regularly inspires his teammates and plans to start coaching skiing, traits that represent what we look for in a Sponsored Athlete.

Sport:
Freestyle Mogul Skiing
Year:
2024 – 2025

Backflips are cool, but so is Emelie McCaughey—who can easily huck them. Along with that, this freestyle mogul skier on the Apex Freestyle Team at Apex Mountain Resort is Inter-Mtn.'s Sponsored Athlete for the 2024 – 2025 season.

Emelie achieved remarkable success by winning a gold medal in the U16 single moguls division at last year’s Junior National Mogul Championship in Whistler. This season, she will compete in the U18 category with the BC Freestyle team. Emelie enjoys competing because it allows her to focus, train rigorously, and showcase her skills for both the judges and herself.

Emelie expresses her passion for movement through contemporary dance, her favourite dance style, when she is not skiing. We are incredibly proud to have Emelie as one of our Sponsored Athletes for the 2024 – 2025  season, and we look forward to following her journey as she strives to improve her results at the Canada Cup while learning from top-level coaches.

Freya Keyserlingk

Freya Keyserlingk

Award:
Sponsored Athlete
Sport:
Freestyle Skiing
Year:
2023 – 2024

Freya Keyserlingk, one of the keenest skiers you'll meet and a Whitewater Freeride U19 program member, has been selected as Inter-Mtn.'s Sponsored Athlete for the 2023 – 2024 season. In her debut year competing in the 15-18 age group, she secured second-place finishes at the Whitewater, Red Mountain, and Kimberly competitions, qualifying second and third, respectfully, at Revelstoke and Whistler. Her impressive performances in that season landed her the 22nd spot overall for females aged 15-18 in North America.

When not competing, Freya skis with her younger sister, who is also in Freeride, her "girl posse," and the boys taking airs, doing backflips and "other crazy teenager stuff," as told by her father, Martin. He added that Freya wants to be at the hill any chance she can, is a straight-A student in French immersion, and is an avid soccer player competing and excelling at the highest level for her age.

On top of being a keen skier, Freya shows promise and passion in soccer and mountain biking, too! An athlete who stands out in her community and is known for her hard work and commitment, Freya is Inter-Mtn.'s 2023 – 2024 Sponsored Athlete. We are excited to cheer her on as she competes in many events, including the North American Junior Freeride competition and Junior Worlds..

Ski Racing
Year:
2019 – 2023

Based out of Apex Mountain Resort, Molly Raymond, Inter-Mtn.'s Sponsored Athlete from 2019 – 2023, was part of the Apex Ski Club, the Okanagan Ski Team, and FIS. She consistently displayed promise and passion in academics and ski racing while working very hard to save up as much as she could so that she could continue racing.

"My passion for outdoor recreation plays a huge part in my daily life because it is one of the things that can always put a smile on my face and feel good while doing it," said Molly.

With an unrelenting passion for skiing, more specifically ski racing, Molly raced competitively for 8-years, and while doing so, she learned a lot and took away so many positives that she can utilize throughout her life and education as she attends the University of Calgary for Geography. "Skiing taught me strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment, which can all be used in my school today!"
